Day 6Friday, September 28: Prague Neighborhoods The day at a glance: Today we took a trip into the suburbs of Prague to visit the beautiful Troja Chateau's gallery, wine tasting cellar, and Botanical Gardens. In the evening, we had our memorable farewell dinner together at the upscale David Restaurant near the American Embassy in Lesser Town. The Prague Castle Orchestra ("the world's smallest orchestra!") came to entertain us. Very enjoyable! |
Prague CastleOrchestra( Pražský hradčansky orchestr ) There is music everywhere in Prague! One of the most entertaining ensembles we heard is the Prague Castle Orchestra. They can often be found playing their music for tourists in the square at Prague Castle. We were fortunate to have 2 of the members play for us at our farewell dinner. The "orchestra" consisted of Josef on flute and vocals with his handlebar mustache and Radek on accordion and vocals. What a way to end our tour! It was a magical evening. We picked up an autographed CD from them while we were there and it makes me smile every time I listen to it. |

We were fortunate enough to visit Prague right when the leaves were changing color
in the fall. On the left is a picture of Dustin & I strolling through the Botanical Gardens near the Troja Chateau, enjoying the
seasonal changes. The photo above is taken from St Clara's Church, overlooking the Chateau. Inside the Chateau, there is an excellent art
gallery, as well as a wine tasting cellar. |

It was a blustery, tempestuous evening. I halfway expected Golem to show up on such a night, but it was not to be!
Please notice that most us are wearing one of our newly purchased cashmere pashminas from Prague. | ||

Katka gave us each a small bottle of Becherovka as a parting gift. It is a Czech herbal liqueur. |
