Did You Know?
The former Kingdom of Bohemia was located in what is now the western part of the Czech Republic, where Prague is located. The name came from a Celtic tribe who lived there in the Middle Ages, the Boii, who were called Boiihaemum (home of the Boii). Besides Bohemia, there are 2 other lesser known regions of the Czech Republic - Moravia and Silesia.
"When you go to the famous tourist town, you are part of the economy.
You go to a little town with no tourism, you are part of the party."

Day 7Saturday, September 29: Tour Over After Breakfast The day at a glance: The tour ended after breakfast this morning, with some folks staying on in Prague, others heading home, and still others off to Austria or other destinations In Europe. |
Farewell Prague!Heather, Dustin & I stayed on an extra day in Prague after the tour ended. We spent the day wandering through Old Town and enjoying the ambience of Prague. We'll leave you with a few fun pictures of our week in Prague. Enjoy! Na shledanou (i.e. Goodbye - nah SKLEH-dah-now) |
| We loved wandering around Prague, not only to see all the wonderful, historical sights. But also to people watch. The streets were filled with vendors selling their wares and the festive sounds of street musicians. The video below shows just a few of the musicians we came across, beginning with the Hare Krishna's (who are not exactly musicians, although they do make music!). |

Heather receives a warm welcome to Prague from a local resident. |
Stuff you can't get at home. Cannabis vodka and absinthe. If you like the taste of Nyquil, then there's a chance you'll
like absinthe! |
There ARE other tour companies besides Rick Steves. The form of transportation may not be quite what you expect though. Buyer beware! |

| Quirky, absurd statues are a common sight in Prague | The beggars in Prague are usually found on their knees, with forehead pressed to the ground... much like the sculpture on the right depicts. | ||
Dustin & Heather with dueling cameras to the right. Above, two animated statues with dueling... well, ummm...
dueling peeing. These statues are in front of the Kafka museum and they are peeing on a map of the Czech Republic.
It actually spells out messages in the water. Very odd!
